SolveSheet Privacy Policy

Operated by Gavi Ventures (Gaurav Agarwal)  ·  Last updated: July 21, 2026

The short version: SolveSheet processes your spreadsheet data entirely inside your browser. We do not operate any servers, do not store your spreadsheet data, and do not sell your data to anyone.

1. What SolveSheet Is

SolveSheet is a Chrome browser extension that adds constraint-solving, scenario management, and sensitivity analysis capabilities to Google Sheets. All computation happens locally in your browser using Google's own Sheets API on your behalf.

2. Information We Collect

Spreadsheet data

When you use SolveSheet, the extension reads cell values and formulas from your active Google Sheet via the Google Sheets API. This data is fetched directly into your browser, used for computation, and never transmitted to any SolveSheet or Gavi Ventures server. Spreadsheet data is processed entirely in-memory within the browser and is never persisted to disk or transmitted over the network. It is not logged, stored, or shared.

Google account (OAuth token)

SolveSheet requests a Google OAuth access token so it can read and write your spreadsheet on your behalf. This token is stored only in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) and is never sent to our servers.

License key

If you purchase a Pro license, your license key is stored locally on your device and sent to Polar.sh (our payment processor) solely for validation purposes.

Usage data

We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry. We have no visibility into which features you use or how often.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To perform solver computations (Goal Seek, Multi-variable Solve, Sensitivity Analysis) entirely within your browser
  • To save and restore scenarios you create — stored locally in your browser extension storage
  • To validate your Pro license key with Polar.sh
  • To authenticate with Google Sheets on your behalf

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. The only third-party services involved are:

  • Google Sheets API — to read and write your spreadsheet. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Polar.sh — to process payments and validate license keys. Governed by Polar's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment card details.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Storage and Retention

All data SolveSheet stores (OAuth tokens, license keys, saved scenarios) is kept in chrome.storage.local — your own device. Removing the extension deletes all of it. We retain no copies on any server.

6. Your Rights

Because we store no personal data on our servers, most data rights are satisfied by simply removing the extension. You may also:

  • Revoke Google OAuth access at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • Contact us to request deletion of any purchase records held by Polar.sh
  • Request information about what data Polar.sh holds in relation to your purchase

7. Children's Privacy

SolveSheet is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing and in the extension's release notes. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.

9. Google API Limited Use

SolveSheet's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Sheets data accessed via the Sheets API is used solely to perform solver computations within the user's browser and is never used to develop, improve, or train AI or machine learning models.
